Allan's Story
Born in Portland. Raised on the water.
Allan was born in Portland, Oregon in 1998 and raised in McMinnville, Oregon — right in the heart of the Willamette Valley. He's been fishing for most of his life, and the Pacific Northwest's rivers, lakes, and coastline have shaped him as an angler from the very beginning.
Fishing runs deep in the family. Allan comes from a large family of eleven brothers and sisters, and the outdoors has always been a shared passion. His oldest brother Steven runs a sports fishing business right here in Oregon — so the love of the water is genuinely in the blood.
Over the years, Allan has fished far beyond the PNW. He's chased fish in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and worked his way up and down the Pacific Coast — from Catalina Island and Malibu to Palos Verdes in Southern California, and back home to Depoe Bay and Lincoln City on the Oregon coast. Every trip adds a new chapter.
This blog is Allan's way of sharing what he's learned across a lifetime on the water — the spots, the techniques, the gear, and the honest stories that don't fit neatly into a fishing report.

Three Types of Water
Rivers
The Sandy, Clackamas, Willamette, and Wilson are my home waters. I've fished every major tributary within 60 miles of Portland.
Lakes
From Hagg Lake in the Tualatin Valley to high Cascade lakes in the summer, still water fishing offers a different kind of patience.
Ocean
The Oregon coast is within 90 minutes of Portland. Nearshore rockfish and lingcod, and offshore albacore when the season allows.
Twelve Years on the Water

First Cast
Started fishing as a kid, learning the rivers and lakes of the Willamette Valley. Brother Steven's passion for the sport was an early and lasting influence.
Depoe Bay & Lincoln City
Began making regular trips to the Oregon coast — bottom fishing for rockfish and lingcod out of Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. The Pacific became a second home.
California Waters
Expanded south along the Pacific — fishing Catalina Island, Malibu, and Palos Verdes. Each location brought new species, new techniques, and new perspectives.
International Waters
Traveled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for offshore fishing. Chasing billfish and dorado in the Sea of Cortez was a milestone trip that broadened his angling world.
Pacific Strike Fishing
Launched this blog to share a lifetime of fishing knowledge — the PNW spots, the techniques, the gear, and the stories that make every trip worth remembering.
